Launching Stage Door Pop's "On Demand" series is Bouquets
for Bassey, a special radio concert Shirley Bassey recorded in Glasgow and
first broadcast in December 1972.
Shirley
teams up with her former musical director Brian Fahey who conducts The New
Scottish Radio Orchestra to present selections from her then new albums I
Capricorn and And I Love You So, alongside songs from her live
concert repertoire.
First
broadcast simultaneously by Radio 1 and 2 on December 28th, 1972, the show was
later syndicated internationally in 1974, being broadcast in such far away
territories as Papua New Guinea.
Digitally
remastered, this superb stereo recording makes its debut on CD. The recording showcases Bassey at her very best, accompanied by the top flight musicians of
the New Scottish Radio Orchestra.
Bouquets
for Bassey is a limited edition pressing of 200 units only. Presented in a
stunning full gloss digipak, the CD is available from Friday January 3rd at 7AM
(GMT).
