Stage
Door are pleased to launch The Al Goodman Collection as part
of our ongoing "On Demand" CD Series.
The collection will reissue the
many exquisite studio cast albums Goodman conducted in the 40s, 50s and 60s. The
albums feature highlights from a wide selection of musicals and operettas,
performed by an array of stars from the world of Broadway and opera. These
albums were originally issued across sets of 45rpm and 78rpm records (and later
on LP), many of which are now highly collectable and sought after.
Volume One spotlights the 1947 studio cast recording of Victor Herbert and Henry
Blossom's Eileen featuring a cast led by Earl Wrightson, Frances
Greer and Jimmy Carroll plus the 1946 studio cast recording of Polonaise
with music by Chopin and lyrics by John Latouche (original material by Bronislaw
Kaper). Polonaise is led by Earl Wrightson, Mary Martha Briney and Rose
Inghram (who starred in the original 1945 Broadway production).
All releases in The Al Goodman Collection are
Limited to 100 units only.
