Since 1990
Meredith Braun has been considered one of the West End's brightest stars, originating and recording such roles as
'Betty Schaeffer' in
'Sunset Boulevard', 'Lily' in the RSC's 'The Secret Garden' and playing the iconic roles of
'Eponine' in
'Les Misérables' and 'Christine' in 'The Phantom of the Opera'.
After a ten year absence, Meredith returns to performing with the release of her debut solo album on March 26th, 2012.
'Someone Else's Story' is a hand-picked collection of songs from contemporary musical theatre, each one of them telling a very personal story.
Composers include Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Michel Legrand,
Stiles and Drewe and Stephen Schwartz.
This stunning, intimate collection features Arrangements and Musical Direction by
Paul Bateman (Musical Director for Sarah Brightman and Lesley Garrett).
Recorded at London's Angel Studios September - December 2011.
"The
CD is terrific with very interesting track choices. You sang Meadowlark
great girl. No easy feat!" - Patti LuPone

(composer - 'Betty Blue Eyes', 'Honk!', 'Soho Cinders', etc.)
"I enjoyed every moment, and track on 'Someone Else's Story'..." - Herbert Kretzmer (lyricist - 'Les Miserables')

REVIEWS...
"A brilliant exhibition of Braun's talents; highly recommended." - Broadway World (Read

"New
Zealand soprano Meredith Braun has been a West End fixture since 1990 appearing
in Sunset Boulevard, The Secret Garden, Les Miserables and The Phantom Of The
Opera. Her first solo album 'Someone Else's Story' is a gem. Two Stephen
Sondheim medleys rub shoulders with 'Meadowlark' (The Baker's Wife), 'Wait A
Bit' (Just So), the title song from 'Love Never Dies', plus four songs from
movies, 'Papa Can You Hear Me?' (Yentl), 'You Must Love Me' (Evita), 'Take Me
Home' (One From the Heart) and 'Rainbow Connection' (The Muppet Movie), which is
also sung in French as a bonus track. Arrangements for piano and cello are
perfect. Highly recommended. - 'On Stage' Magazine (Australia)
"Braun
brings her warm, clear soprano to an interesting selection of show
ballads..." - 'Stage Whispers' Magazine (Australia)
"Fans of musical theatre will love this debut release from Auckland-born Meredith Braun, best known as a star of London's West End. Braun also acted alongside Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy in the 1992 film The Muppet Christmas Carol. Now she has released her debut solo album, Someone Else's Story, a collection of songs from theatre productions, including Chess, Evita and Sweeney Todd. Kermit must have made an impression on the singer because his classic Rainbow Connection is included twice
- in English and the French
L'Arc-en-Ciel." - 'Next' Magazine (New Zealand)
